AOS Policies

The policy of AOS is to always meet the requirements and expectations of the customer as well as statutory and regulatory authorities, through the development and maintenance of Quality Management Systems in conformance with ISO 9001:2008, and to continuously improve the effectiveness of the same. A Management System for Quality has been established to achieve and maintain the required quality and to ensure adherence to the governing requirements and industry standards for safe and efficient operations. This management system shall be the means through which the Company’s Mission, Policies and Quality Objectives will be achieved. The Management System has the active support and commitment of Aqua Omega Services’ Senior Management who regularly review its effectiveness within each Region through regular management meetings. AOS has the ultimate responsibility for effective implementation of the Management System and have appointed a representative to look after all management process related matters.

AOS has given sufficient authority and organizational freedom to its representative to enable him to identify improvement opportunities at all levels of the organization and to assist in their implementation. It is the Line Managers’ responsibility to ensure the quality of work within their area and promote a pro-active approach towards continuous improvement in their Division / Department / Projects. They shall ensure that the workforce reporting to them have an adequate level of competence and skills and that they take ownership for the quality of work. Regional Managers are responsible for the establishment and development of procedures in accordance with corporate objectives and for ensuring that they represent current working practices. It is important that members of the Aqua Omega Services’ workforce at all levels of the organization adhere to the policy requirements and procedures of the Management System. It is equally important that the Subcontractor’s and Supplier’s capability to meet Aqua Omega Services’ expectations with regards to ensuring adequate control of their work has been assessed.

Health, Safety & Environment Policy

Statement of Principle
Protection of the health and safety of our employees, all those affected by our business and the protection of the environment, are critical to the overall success of our company. To meet these objectives, we conduct our operations using sound HSE management systems, which reflect best industry practice, and are also committed to continual improvement of the management systems from lessons learned. HSE performance is a core value in our business and all AOS employees are accountable for its delivery. As part of the organisational achievement, the company has achieved ‘NIL’ LOST TIME INJURY in the last three years. It is our endeavour to strive for ZERO lost time due to injury without jeopardizing the operations and ensure Health and Environment are not affected at any time.

Implementation

We will:

  • Identify health, safety and environmental hazards arising from our business, assess and manage associated risks, across the full lifecycle of our projects.
  • Comply with legislation and associated codes of practice and endeavour to improve on the performance standards they specify by adopting a risk-based approach to design, construction and operations of facilities. In managing our impact on the environment, we will go beyond compliance with local regulation where appropriate, seeking to meet internationally accepted good practice.
  • Implement health, safety and environment management systems, which reflect, best industry practice. Major managed operations are required to achieve external certification of HSE management systems.
  • Endeavour to continually improve our health, safety and environmental performance so that work related ill health and incidents are reduced and environmental emissions, waste and the use of energy are decreased relative to activity.
  • Ensure that health, safety and environmental performance is the responsibility of all staff, involve and consult employees and where appropriate, their representatives.
  • Provide direction, training and where appropriate, supervision to enable all staff to meet their responsibility to work safely and with due consideration for the health and safety of others and the environment, in particular while working at client’s environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective contingency plans, where appropriate in conjunction with the authorities and emergency services.
  • Co-operate fully with relevant enforcement agencies and work with industry and external bodies to further the understanding and development of health, safety and environment management and practice.
  • Encourage our contractors and partners to demonstrate the same level of commitment to continuous improvement in standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
  • Seek to contribute to the sustainable development of communities where we operate and to understand and take account of the health, safety and environmental concerns of staff, customers, shareholders and communities.
  • Make available appropriate resources to implement this policy.
  • Ensure compliance with this policy through a process of education, review and audit.
  • Publish a regular statement of key health, safety and environmental objectives and report publicly on performance in these areas.
  • Operate a “Just” system of dealing with safety infringements.

All members of Aqua Omega Services have an obligation to comply fully with this policy and in doing so; we believe we will create a working environment where we continuously improve HSE performance and where harm is reduced to an As Low As Reasonably Practicable level.

Security, Arms & Ammunition Policy
It is the policy of Aqua Omega Services to ensure that :

Drugs & Alcohol Policy

The Company believes in promoting, providing and maintaining a safe, hazard free working environment, to protect employee health and client’s company property and to promote safe and efficient operations. To achieve this objective, the possession, use and consumption of drugs and alcohol on any marine vessel, offshore installation or work site operated/owned by the company is strictly prohibited

  • The company’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy exceeds the recommendations contained in Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) guidelines for the Control of drug and alcohol on board ship.
  • With regard to alcohol, this policy is based on the following:
      • No Alcohol or Drugs in any form shall be consumed for the purpose of intoxication at any of AOS worksite and/or premises.
      • Flag, Port or Coastal state requirements which exceed the requirements of this policy shall be adhered to as if included in this policy.
  • In addition, the company maintains a system based on random testing of urine sample to monitor the effectiveness of this policy.
  • Any form of drug with the exception of prescribed drugs, is totally banned from the company’s work sites.
  • The diving Personnel on prescribed drugs must declare this fact to the Diving Superintendent/ Supervisor upon joining the vessel/ work site, or upon prescription if prescribed during the period of service on board.
  • The Diving Superintendent/ Supervisor if on prescribed drugs must declare this fact to the Base Manager prior joining the vessel, or upon prescription if prescribed during the period of service on board.
  • This policy is monitored on all work sites by the Diving Superintendent/ Supervisor.
  • In addition, all diving personnel must undergo appropriate tests carried out during routine annual medical examinations.
  • All diving personnel may be subjected to unannounced random tests for Port State or Clients’ requirement.
